Baby Capsule or Child seat : from birth to 9 months

A baby restraint or ‘”capsule” is for babies up to 9kgs roughly.

A baby restraint is a rear facing seat. Although they can be used in the front or rear of the car, it is safer to put them in the front of the vehicle (except if there is a passenger airbag in the front).
Use the car’s seat belt to anchor the seat to the car and make sure the harness straps fit your baby snugly.

Baby seat : 9 months to 4 years old

For children weighing 9-18 kgs.

A child restraint is a forward facing seat which must be put in the rear of the vehicle. Use the car’s seat belt to anchor the seat to the car and make sure the harness straps fit your baby snugly.

Child booster seat: from 4 to 11 years old

For children weighing 18 – 36kgs ( from 4 to 11 years).

A booster seat must be put in the rear of the vehicle. Booster seats do not have an integral harness to hold the child in place. The adult seat belt goes around the child and the seat. So it is important that the seat belt is correctly adjusted. Make sure the diagonal strap rest over the shoulder, not the neck!

Rates and conditions:

• Baby seat:  €11 per day – 7 days charged max.

• Booster seat: €8 per day – 7 days charged max.

According to French baby / child Seat Law & Regulations :

Children under 10 years of age are not allowed to travel in the front seat of a car unless they are a baby, that is 9 months old or under and weigh less than 9kg, but they must be in an appropriate baby seat (rear facing) unless there is an airbag fitted, when they are not allowed on the front seat at all. In the rear seats all children under 10 must be in the right restraint, if their weight is between 9 and 15kg a child seat and over 15 kg’s a booster type seat.
